Since returning from the holiday break, the students and staff have gotten back into the routine structure of the school day. In walking down the halls and doing classroom walk throughs, we have noticed rigorous and relevant lessons in every grade level! Great things are happening daily at Peace River! Students are learning and showing successes on the classroom and county assessments. Classroom procedures are second nature by now; teachers are able to devote all classroom time to teaching and learning the Sunshine State Standards. This time of year all of our staff and our third, fourth, fifth grade students have the Florida Comprehensive Test on their minds. FCAT writing for our fourth grade students is on February 28th. The FCAT Mathematics, Reading, and Science (fifth grade only) testing starts on April 16th and ends on April 25th. Research has shown that it is very important for your child to be well rested and well nourished in order to be successful on this rigorous test! One thing that we truly appreciate is the input we receive from our school community. On any given day, the school is buzzing with helping hands that reach every one of us – young and old alike. Together, we can make such a tremendous difference in the lives of our children.
